REZZ – As The Pendulum Swings (Album)
Canadian DJ and producer REZZ has revealed her fifth album titled “As The Pendulum Swings”, a 13 track set she calls her darkest album yet. Ranging from her signature hypnotic and industrial midtempo style to more futuristic and cinematic offerings, the enigmatic songs come at a perfect time as we head into the Halloween season. The collection was released on her own record label HypnoVizion, which she started in 2022.
The set consists of “Prophecy”, “Contorted”, “Telepathy” with Chuurch, “Running From Yourself”, “Glass Veins” with CABLE, “Zone” with EDDIE, “Incantation” with fknsyd, and “Substance” with k?d.
Also included are “How I Do It” with Dillon Francis and BRVMES, “Downward” with Owl Vision, “Upper”, “Blue People”, and “Delirium” with isqa featuring fknsyd.
“As The Pendulum Swings is a more mature version of my project. It reflects where I am in life as a 30 year old,” shares Niagara Falls native Isabelle Rezazadeh. “I feel I have the clearest vision and desires and musically, this album plays a major role in that, as well as the aesthetics to my visual content and performances. This album means a lot to me because there’s quite a few old songs that were revamped for this. It feels nostalgic but also new. It really showcases the type of music I’m currently influenced by which feels great to say. I feel like I’ve evolved in the quality of the songs, and the direction is very specific. It capitalizes on industrial/slow techno elements.”
Supporters of tunes from the album include Alison Wonderland, Illenium, NGHTMRE and SLANDER, Zeds Dead, and Timmy Trumpet.
Toronto based REZZ recently announced her As The Pendulum Swings tour, which will start in a couple months. Coming up next month, she will be performing two nights in a row at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado for REZZ Rocks VII on Saturday October 18 with YDG, Shadient, NotLö, and TINYKVT; and on Sunday October 19 (when she will debut Nightmare on Rezz Street 3) with AC Slater, AHEE, Digital Ethos, and Curra.
Canadian duo Chuurch, which is made up of Jeff Wilson and Justin MacLean, have previously released on OWLSA, Deadbeats, and Kannibalen Records.
New Orleans based CABLE has released his songs on imprints such as Dektora, Prime Night Cult, and MORIS BLAK.
EDDIE, also known as Melbourne based Edwin Beganovic, will be performing at Excision’s Lost Lands festival tomorrow Sunday September 21 on the Forrest Stage.
Florida native fknsyd, whose real name is Sydney Fisher, has worked with Anyma and REZZ on “Entropy”, Manila Killa on “Take Me Higher”, and SLANDER and Kompany on “Broken”.
Miami native k?d, also known as Patrick Cybulski, has played in places such as Denver, San Diego, Japan, and Thailand.
Los Angeles Dillon Francis will be performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday November 1 as part of Galantis presents Midsommar – All Hallows.
BRMVES, who is Los Angeles based Michael Alfonso, has released his music on record labels like NULLSECT, Space Yacht, and Welcome Records.
Sweden native Owl Vision, whose real name is Johannes Arnesson Ekman, has played around Europe in countries like Denmark, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and France.
isqa is a project from Los Angeles based Jordan Orcaz, better known as No Mana, who has performed in San Francisco, Canada, Austin, and Atlanta.
