Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston – Quicksand (Don’t Go) (Sultan + Shepard Remix)
Grammy nominated duo Sultan + Shepard have pout their signature touch on “Quicksand (Don’t Go)” by Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston from the famed trio’s fifth album “Bigger Than All Of Us” that was released in July. Driving beats and soulful melodies are used in their melodic remix, which keeps the iconic vocals of Zoë Johnston a strong focal point. Their version was released through Above & Beyond’s record label Anjunabeats, which was founded in 2000 in London.
Sultan + Shepard share that “Above & Beyond have always embodied the spirit of melodic, emotional dance music that first inspired us to start writing music. Remixing ‘Quicksand’ gave us the chance to honor that legacy while reshaping it into something that feels authentic to our own journey and the music we play today.”
Above & Beyond selected the remix as the Record of the Week on Group Therapy 646 and Push The Button on 647, with Lane 8, Solarstone, Markus Schulz, Boehm, Chicane, Kyau & Albert, Mees Salomé, and Zerb also supporting it.
Originally meeting at a club in Montreal in 2002, Los Angeles based Ossama Al Sarraf and Ned Shepard have gone on to release tracks from imprints such as This Never Happened, Armada Music, and Toolroom Records.
