Mindslash – Nightshift EP
Appearing on Set About for the first time is Bulgarian talent Mindslash with a two track EP in “Nightshift”. Also consisting of “Embrace”, the collection features hypnotic beats and punchy drums throughout the enigmatic and striking set. The EP was put out by the record label started in 2015 in Bulgaria by Metodi Hristov and Gallya.
An interesting note regarding the title song is that it was “Born from a difficult period working nightshifts in an alcohol and cigarette shop, the track channels his frustration into sound: he recorded the fridges, cashier desk and beeps that surrounded him, then transformed them into a cathartic, aggressive composition. In a single 10 – hour studio session, he shaped these raw elements and crafted a track built for peak – time energy – relentless, controlled and a striking test ament to turning struggle into art.”

Plovdiv native Ivan Kotsev, who started DJing at the age of 16, has heard his tunes on imprints such as Crypt, Invicta, and Animarum.
