Earlier this year in April, Charlotte de Witte announced her debut album with the release of “The Realm”. Seven months later, the Belgian DJ and producer has revealed the full 11 track self titled set with plenty of acid synths and enigmatic beats to go around. Featuring four collaborations, the hypnotic and psychdelic collection was released through her own record label KNTXT, which she started in 2019.
The album consists of “The Realm”, “No Division” featuring XSALT, “Vidmahe”, “Memento Mori”, “Become”, and “The Heads That Know” featuring Comma Dee. ALso included are “Higher”, “Domine”, “After The Fall” featuring Lisa Gerrard, “Hymn”, and “Matière Noire” featuring Alice Evermore.
The Ghent native recently shared “It’s been a long time coming and i put my heart and soul into this. A piece of me, expressed through sound. A sonic journey through my life as a clubber and a DJ and an invitation into my world. A world built on countless nights, countless beats, and the unwavering belief that club music still has the power to move us, transform us, and connect us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your unwavering love and support. This is a big moment ❤️“.
Over the past 15 years, Charlotte de Witte has been the force behind songs such as her “One Mind” EP with Amelie Lens, “High Street”, her remix with Enrico Sangiuliano of “The Age Of Love” by Age Of Love, and “Sgadi Li Mi”.
