Alison Wonderland – Ghost World (Album)
The fourth album from Alison Wonderland called “Ghost World” is definitely not one to miss out on this year. The Sydney native wrote the album during a point in her life of major change, as “the album speaks to the power and energy of creating your own reality, your own world to seek refuge, and ultimately finding connection and community with like minds. It’s about keeping your head up; it’s about dancing through the pain; it’s about being there for the people you love and care for and holding them close.”
Released from EMI Music Australia, the collection from the Australian DJ and producer includes 14 tracks with six collaborators. The album consists of “Ghost World”, “Get Started”, “iwannaliveinadream”, “Heaven” featuring Ninajirachi”, “Call Me (r u alone?)”, “Lost & Found “featuring MEMBA, and “Everything Comes In Waves”.
Also included are “PSYCHO” featuring Erick the Architect, MEMBA & QUIX, “Sirens”, “Voices” featuring DJ_Dave, “XTC” featuring Whyte Fang (an alias of hers), “Again? Fuck.”, “Floating Away”, and “Is This The End?”.
“I often feel like I’m wandering this earth trying to find my home, both artistically and personally,” says Alison. “…sometimes it feels like the search will never end, I want people to know that while you’re on that search, there is a place of refuge here for you, with us, in Ghost World.”
Los Angeles based artist Alex Sholler will go on tour next year to support the album, so be on the look out for dates and tickets!
