Chase & Status x Stormzy – Backbone (Dark Sherry Remix) [Free Download]
Here’s one that I didn’t see coming: Mark Sherry has remixed “Backbone” by Chase & Status and Stormzy under his Dark Sherry hard techno alias. The Scottish DJ and producer uses a pummeling bassline and galloping beats along with the recognizable vocals of the London based rapper, which is available to download for free.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Chase & Status ever since I remixed their track ‘Blind Faith’ a good few years ago..so as soon as I heard their track ‘Backbone’ with Stormzy, I knew right away that I had to remix this as well..but under my ‘Dark Sherry’ hard techno alias!
I also wanted to make something that was really fast and crazy to play as my closing track in my ‘Dark Sherry’ set at Luminosity Events in the summer earlier this year – so this is what I came up with. 160bpm festival sized pounder!”
This isn’t the first time he’s put his touch on a Chase & Status track…back in 2011, he put his twist on “Blind Faith” featuring Liam Bailey.
Tomorrow on Saturday January 10, Mark Sherry will be playing at Avalon in Hollywood alongside David Forbes, Olly James, and Taylor Torrence, presented by Dreamstate.
