Padre Guilherme – We Want an Unarmed and Disarming Peace EP
It was about a year ago when I first heard of Padre Guilherme when I listened to a set of his on YouTube for the Youth for Peace Festival at the Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. The Portuguese DJ and producer has been on my radar ever since, and his new melodic house and techno EP titled “We Want an Unarmed and Disarming Peace” is the perfect way to start the new year.
The set consists of “We Want Peace” with Diego Miranda featuring Liah Barrett and “Instrumento De Paz” with Dre Guazzelli featuring Liah Barrett. The EP was released through Padre Guilherme’s Lisbon based Lux Aeterna Records, which is Latin for “eternal light”.
Padre Guilherme states “Inspired by Pope Leo XIV’s Message for the 59th World Day of Peace, this release harnesses the characteristic tension of Melodic Techno to convey a narrative of light against darkness — an anthem in favour of peace. Proof that electronic music can be a powerful medium of communion among crowds around the world.”

Padre Guilherme is a parish priest in the Archdiocese of Braga and a military chaplain with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Diocese of the Armed and Security Forces. He has other impressive sets of his on his YouTube channel, including from World Youth Day in Portugal, Zamna in Chile, and Catholic Youth Day & Cardinal Iuliu Hossu National Year. Portuguese DJ and producer Diego Miranda has performed at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Rock in Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Ushuaïa in Ibiza, Hï Ibiza, and Octagon in South Korea.
Liah Barrett was born in São Paulo raised in Vienna. Holding a master’s degree in jazz singing, she has performed at around the world at places like Amnesia in Ibiza, O Beach in Ibiza, Duplex in Prague, and Green Valley in Brazil.
São Paulo native Dre Guazzelli has played at Tomorrowland in both Belgium and Brazil, Burning Man in Nevada, and at Formula 1 races in Monaco and Brazil.
