Thaylo – Not A Dream (Original Mix) + Interview

French DJ and producer Thaylo has revealed his next melodic house and techno tune in “Not A Dream” from London based PLAYY. Records. Grenoble native Théo Arama crafts a captivating track that combines celestial melodies, shimmering synths, ethereal vocals throughout.
Read on for an interview with Thaylo has he talks about how he would describe his sound in three animals, performing at La Chapelle, his upcoming show with Aaron Hibell at Bootshaus, and more!
Hey Thaylo! How has the first quarter of 2026 been for you?
The first quarter of 2026 has been quite busy for me, with some great booking opportunities and also the release of my collaboration with Teho. The track had a really strong start, already reaching over 250k streams on Spotify and being featured in four Spotify editorial playlists, which has been amazing to see.
How would you describe your sound in three animals, and why those animals?
I’d probably describe my sound as a mix of three animals. A wolf, for the emotional and instinctive side of my music — there’s always a sense of depth and atmosphere I try to bring into my tracks. A falcon, because I like my productions to feel aerial and cinematic, with melodies that can really soar and create a sense of space. And maybe a horse, for the driving energy and rhythm that carries the track forward, especially in the more club-oriented moments.
“Not A Dream” is the title of your next melodic house track. What was your inspiration behind crafting the ethereal and dreamy tune?
With this track, I wanted to bring the melodic touch that is really important in my music, while also giving it a stronger club orientation so I can play it in my live sets. The idea was to keep that emotional and dreamy atmosphere, but still make it powerful enough to work on the dancefloor.
The song was released on PLAYY. Records, an imprint you’ve become quite familiar with due to a handful of releases with them already. How did you first connect with the record label and what guided your decision in signing with them?
We first connected through their press relations service. They discovered some of my tracks and really liked what I was doing, which led to further discussions. From there, it felt natural to go a step further and start working together more closely, with the idea of building something on a longer-term\ vision rather than just a one-off release.
Earlier this year, you played at one of the most unique venues I’ve seen in La Chapelle in Angers, France. Can you describe that experience for us?
It was a great experience. The club is very different from most venues and really has its own soul. I loved playing there because when you perform in a place that has such a strong visual identity, it makes the music feel even deeper and more immersive for both the artist and the crowd.
What does the rest of the year have in store for you?
A lot of exciting things. I have a show coming up with Aaron Hibell at the legendary Bootshaus club in Germany (edit: on this Saturday March 21), and I already have several dates and festivals lined up for the summer, so the calendar is filling up nicely and I’m really excited about it.
On the music side, I’m also moving toward a more club-oriented direction. I want to create tracks with a stronger and more powerful energy for the dancefloor.
Favorite song of 2026:
Honestly, lately I’ve been listening more to older tracks rather than new ones from 2026. I’ve been playing a lot of music from Carlita and RÜFÜS DU SOL — I really love the atmosphere and emotion in their productions, which is something that inspires me a lot in my own music.
Best track to play at peak time:
Aaron Hibell & Alex Wann – Set Me Free (CamelPhat Remix)
Producer(s) and/or vocalist(s) you’d most like to work with:
RÜFÜS DU SOL would definitely be at the top of the list. I’m a huge fan of their sound and the emotional depth they bring to their music. I’d also love to work with artists like Carlita, Ben Böhmer, MØME, or Adriatique. They all have very distinctive worlds, and collaborating with artists who have such strong identities is always really inspiring.
Upcoming artist(s) to watch for in 2026:
Lyke, Orsay,.. and me I guess, ahaha
