GoldFish x Zolani Mahola – Little Wonder (Original Mix)

Over six years in the making, “Little Wonder” by South African artists GoldFish and Zolani Mahola has now officially been released. GoldFish, who are now based in San Diego, craft an Afro house tune with soulful melodies and warm synths to go along with the uplifting vocals of Zolani Mahola, giving us an early start to the summer. The single was released through GoldFish’s record label 33 Degrees, the name of which comes from having created their entire discography based 33° South (Cape Town) and 33° North (San Diego).

“Working with Zolani in San Diego was a lot of fun,” shares GoldFish. “It was a full-circle moment bringing three Capetonians together so far from home, which added real depth and soul to the track. We’ve always tried to balance dancefloor energy with something more meaningful, and this feels like a chapter where our sound and storytelling are truly aligned.”
Zolani says that “I’ve had a long relationship with GoldFish from the early days when we were all starting out. Coming together in San Diego to finally write was a big moment, made possible by incredible support from home. It felt like something people really wanted to see happen.”
Dominic Peters and David Poole met as students over 20 years ago while studying jazz at the University of Cape Town. They will be playing at Avalon in Hollywood on Friday May 8.
Zolani Mahola was formerly the lead singer of the Afro fusion band Freshlyground, who are best known for collaborating with Shakira on “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)“, which was the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa.
