GRiZ – Future Funk Volume 1 (Album)
GRiZ announced his new album titled “Future Funk” Volume 1 earlier this month and released it just a week later, his first since 2021’s “Rainbow Brain”. The 10 track set from Denver based Grant Kwiecinski features a collection of funky basslines, sax driven melodies, and gritty beats throughout.
The album consists of “Outlaw”, “Rump Shaker” with Big Gigantic, “Rainbow Machine”, “BBFL”, “Funk You Up!”. Also included are ” Found Your Love”, “When I’m Hot” with Effin, “iLLest In The Game” featuring ProbCause, “555”, and “Back to Me”.
This past Monday, Detroit native GRiZ announced two nights of shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, with a GRiZ set and Chasing The Golden Hour set on Wednesday September 2 and two GRiZ sets on Thursday September 3. Pre-sale tickets will be available beginning Thursday June 18 at 10:00am local venue time
GRiZ also has a slew of festival appearances lined up for this summer before his Red Rocks shows, including Electric Forest, Escapade Music Festival, Badlands Music Festival, Outside Lands, North Coast Music Festival, and Experts Only Festival.
In addition to all that, the second edition of his Seven Stars Festival will take place Friday October 9, Saturday October 10, and Sunday October 11 in Virginia.
Big Gigantic, who are Denver based Dominic Lalli (production and saxophone) and Jeremy Salken (drums), will be performing their 360 DJ set at Fit Social in San Diego on Sunday August 2 as part of RENEW, presented by Almost Nakey and Same Same But Different.
Effin, also known as Nashville native John Douglas Bowden, will be playing at Same Same But Different 2026 which takes place Friday September 25, Saturday September 26, and Sunday September 27 in Perris.
ProbCause, who is Chicago native Colin Grimm, will be playing in San Diego at Spin Night Club on Saturday July 11 as part of Same Same But Different’s Submerged series. Also on the lineup are Manic Focus and Wanderin Wook.
