Armin van Buuren – Sunny Days ft. Josh Cumbee (Summer Is Calling & Impani Remix)
The cover art for the Summer Is Calling and Impani remix of “Sunny Days” by Armin van Buuren featuring Josh Cumbee is what initially drew my attention when digging through Beatport recently. Though the picture was super small initally, I instantly recognized it as a photo of Tower 5 at T-Street beach in San Clemente from right here in Orange County.
Originally released in 2017, the new version features hypnotic drum beats and soothing melodies combined with the soulful vocals of the Los Angeles based singer and songwriter. The remix was released through Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron, and David Lewis’ Armada Music, which they started in 2003 in Amsterdam.
Summer Is Calling is a project from Armada Music launched in 2025, which “unveils chill, lounge versions of iconic tracks from the Armada Music and BEAT Music Fund catalog designed for relaxing, unwinding and basking in sun-soaked nostalgia. Alongside the project’s dedicated releases, Armada Music TV has launched a YouTube channel, Summer Is Calling 24/7, featuring 24 hours of uninterrupted ambient, chill, downtempo and Afro house music, seven days a week.”
A graduate ofHerman Brood Academie, Dutch artist Maarten van den Bosch has been behind tunes such as “Around You”, “Osu Qala”, and “Leh Na Leh” with Chiara Meloni.
